Experience Mill Creek Through the Seasons
There’s something a little bit magical about Mill Creek in every season. This is a real working farmstead in the Idaho mountains, so what you see—and feel—changes all year long. Whether you’re wandering down to the creek, watching the goats in the pasture, or just sitting on the porch with a mug in your hands, each season has its own kind of quiet beauty.

Spring
Spring is when everything wakes up. The pastures turn bright green, the creek runs full and clear, and baby animals start showing up in the barn and fields. You might hear birds calling from the cottonwoods and see fresh snow still clinging to the high peaks while the valley comes back to life.

Summer
Summer days here are long, warm, and easy. Spend slow mornings by the creek, dip your toes in the water, or cast a line and see what’s biting. Afternoons are for wandering the property, saying hello to the animals, and soaking in the mountain views. When the sun drops, the sky fills with stars and the whole farmstead settles into a soft, peaceful hush.

Fall
Fall wraps the farm in golds and ambers. The trees along the creek turn bright and the air gets that crisp, clean edge. It’s the perfect time for quiet walks, watching wildlife move through the fields, and coming back to a cozy cabin as the light fades early behind the mountains.

Winter
Winter slows everything down in the best way. Snow softens the pastures and muffles the sounds of the day, and the creek keeps winding its way through the white. You can bundle up for a walk, watch the animals move through the snow, then head back inside to warm up and simply enjoy being tucked away in the mountains.
There’s plenty to do—or relax and do nothing.
There’s always something to do at Mill Creek—or absolutely nothing at all. Wander the trails, fish the creek, meet the goats, or find a shady spot and watch the world go by. Your biggest decision might just be whether to get up or stay right where you are.

Pasture Peeks
At Mill Creek, the goats really run the show. Jesse milks the goats every day and invites guests to come see how it all works. She’ll share the time she does chores, and you’re welcome to join her in the barn if you’d like. You can pet the goats, watch them wander the property in their colorful collars, and see how they help keep the farm thriving. Enjoying the goats is a big part of the Mill Creek Farmstead experience.

The End of the Road
Surrounded by Wide-Open BLM Land
Mill Creek Farmstead sits at the very end of the road, bordered on all sides by thousands of acres of BLM land. That means no crowds, no close neighbors—just big skies, quiet nights, and room to roam. Step right from the cabin into open country to hike, explore, or take the ATV out on nearby trails. Out here, it truly feels like you have the valley to yourself.
